The object lesson

This is my favorite object.

During a visit some years back, I asked my dad for a pen. He passed me this plastic Franken‑clicker. I doesn’t just work, it thrives—like my dad engineered joy into it on purpose. Its click is absurdly satisfying.

A tiny monument to my dad’s resourcefulness, wit, and the belief that everything (and everyone) deserves a second life.
